Resort Fee

Couple skiing up ski slope - Glacier National Park Cabin Rentals

WHAT IS THE RESORT FEE?

Your guarantee of maintained trails in our wilderness

Recently, the U.S. Forest Service mandated costly requirements for trail maintenance.

The costliest was the mandatory installation of four engineered bridges on our trail system.

We at the Izaak Walton Inn are responsible to pay 100% of these costs.

We maintain about 23 miles of Forest Service trails.

This past November, we replaced the Marion Creek Bridge, which cost about $53,000.

In spring 2019, we'll be replacing the Essex Creek Bridge.

The Izaak Walton is committed to replacing the two remaining bridges in the next 6 to 8 years.

We also provide maintenance to the forest trail system in the form of brush management, weed abatement, tree removal after storms, bridge maintenance, mowing the trail system, repairing or replacing coverts (drainage lines), and backfilling or replacing earth on washed-out trails.

In short, we at the Izaak Walton Inn are stewards of the land here in our backyard, and ask our treasured guests who get the most from this land to help contribute.

We hope you understand the need for this fee as it is vital that we provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Stay on track and hurry on back!
