WHAT IS THE RESORT FEE?
Recently, The Forest Service has mandated costly requirements for trail maintenance.
The costliest being the mandatory installation of four (4) engineered bridges on our trail system.
We at the Izaak Walton Inn are responsible to pay 100% of these costs.
We maintain approximately twenty-three (23) miles of Forest Service trails.
This past November, we replaced the Marion Creek Bridge which cost over $52,700.00.
In the spring of 2019, we are committed to replacing the Essex Creek Bridge.
The Izaak Walton is committed to replacing the 2 remaining bridges in the next 6 to 8 years.
We provide maintenance to The Forest Trail System in the form of brush management, weed abatement, tree removal after storms, bridge maintenance, mowing the trail system, repairing or replacing coverts (drainage lines), and to back fill or replace earth on washed out trails.
In short, we at The Izaak Walton Inn are stewards of the land here in our back yard.
We hope you understand the need for this fee as it is vital that we provide a safe & enjoyable experience for our guests.
Stay on track and hurry on back!
